How the Status of a Woman Changed Over Time Conduct a Poll to Understand Whether Womens Condition has Improved or Degraded in the 21st Century

Trying to state the importance of women is like going on a journey that is never going to end; women play a lot of important roles in the home, in the society, and in the world at large.

The biggest of them being that human life will be non-existent without women in the equation of procreation, which means that me the writer of this article and you the reader of my article will not be here or alive without women.

Everyone knows the importance of women and the roles they can play in society, so why have women for many, many centuries been pushed to the background? Why are women always clamoring for their deserved equality? I don’t have answers to those question, perhaps you do.

Women believe they have been treated unfairly in the past; however, in recent centuries, women have started to find their voice and have tried to push their relevance to the fore in a ‘male dominate world’. We now have a lot of women who have been recognized for their immense contribution in all areas of society.

A lot of women have etched their names in the areas of technology, science, literature, religion, world peace, entertainment, law, politics, etc.

Women are doing all they can to make sure that their collective voice is heard in a world where everything has always been about the male folk,

So the question is: Has the status of women really improved over time or in the 21st century?

The good and the bad side

It has for a lot of years been a herculean task for a woman to get employment anywhere, especially high-earning employment. Now that story has changed because women now hold various positions from bottom to top in various organizations.

Women have now moved into jobs that used to be done by men. In 2011, women made up slightly more than half the workforce in America.

Although more women are getting employed, they are not getting the kind of pay men to get. Ruth Pearson, a feminist economist said, “As an individual worker, they experienced both the liberalizing impact of earning a regular wage, and of having increased autonomy over their economic lives; at the same time many were also aware of the fact that their work was low paid in comparison with male workers.

Also, positions of power have always seemed like it’s for men alone; however, in recent centuries and particularly the 21st century, women have started holding very high positions in government. I am sure you know some of these women. However, it seems we are going to wait a long, long time before women can hold equal positions of power with men.

For us to be really sure about the kind of change in the status of women over time, we have to get the views of people around the world. Online polls and surveys can play a very vital role in that regard.
